Yesterday, we arrived on the lake around 2:30 and found bluegill rising for dries. It was tons of fun! Ended up getting 6 all on dries and a bass slow trolling an olive wooly bugger using an intermediate sinking line.

I scouted the Lower Yuba today for an upcoming guide trip and the river was very high and off color. Even with that I did have 1 fish come up for a Skwala dry. Hopefully, the river will come down some in the next few days.
Hello fly fishing friends! The Middle Fork of the Feather River has been a sort of puzzel for me this season so far. The water started off extremely high in April-June and has been dropping dramatically lately. Fishing in May was very good despite the high water. Fish were congregating along the edges, and I hooked two very large rainbows. As May turned into June the water continued to drop, but the fishing slowed with it which was puzzeling. I last fished it on July 4th and had a pretty good afternoon using a dry with a dropper. Try a size 10 orange stimulator with size 14 bead-headed copper john as your dropper and expect action with both flies. The water temperature was 68 degrees at the time. I'll be fishing it again tomorrow, so if you want to current fish report, don't hesitate to call me at 916-426-2082.
